How to See non personalized Search Results?

When you search through Google if you are constantly signed in, the search results that you will get are personalized, meaning that they are adjusted to your personal search and browsing history. So you can't really see the relevant results that you would get if you are not signed in. But signing out to see the non personalized results than signing back again is really annoying, so here's what you do.
1.Download and install some alternative browser like (Netscape, Safari, or any other that you don't normaly use. So if you are using Netscape or Safari download Firefox or IE).
2.Set Google as home page, and in Options>Privacy set the browser to clear all private data on Exit.

This is the best and easiest way to get relevant search results. All you need to do is run the browser and search.

You can test this by first searching while you are signed in, then start the other browser and search again. You'll see that the results are quite different.

There are other add-ons on the net for this , but this is by far simpler.

How to compress a Digital Camera Photo?

Digital cameras are great, and digital photos even better. The only problem with digital photos is their size. Not their pixel size, but the memory size. An average digital camera produces photos from 2MB up to 5MB, and it's fine considering the quality photos you get, but it's kinda hard to send a file that big through e-mail, unless you resize the photo considerably.
So here's what you do to keep the dimensions of the photo, but downsize the memory size three to five times and all that without any loss in quality that a bare eye would notice or a photo printer. And you can do it with none other but Paint. That's right MS Paint. The fact is, it's so simple procedure that it'll feel like you're doing nothing.

Step 1: Open the photo with Paint.
Step 2: Go to File > Save as...
Step 3: A dialog box will open, just click "Save"
Step 4: On the next dilog box, which asks if you want to replace the photo click "Yes"
Step 5: That's it just close the photo and you'll see that the memory size now is under 1MB, depending of the photo content in colors and lights.

Note 1: You can do this with BMP(bitmap images)too, but in step 3 first you will need to change the file format to JPEG or JPG then click "Save". And there's no Step 4, but this way you will have to copies of the photo so you might wanna delete one.

Note 2: Just to remind you that practically there's no quality loss. Either from JPEG to JPEG or BMP to JPEG, a photo printer or you or a computer screen won't notice. You can test this by compressing a copy of the desired photo and then compare.

Note 3: If you wish to compress the photos in order to sent them by e-mail, you can compress copies of the photos and delete after you sent them, so that you would keep the originals. But if you want to free up some space on your hard disks you can do this to the originals.

How to dual boot Windows Vista and Ubuntu 7.10?

This is guide how to install Ubuntu along with already installed Windows Vista.

So to begin you need to have Vista installed on your PC and at least (reccomended) 10Gigs disk space that you can spare for the Ubuntu installation, on any partition of the hard disk. Keep in mind that some free space must remain for Vista. For example, you have two partitions: local disk C, and local disk D. Local disk C is the OS drive, so we will install Ubuntu on Local Disk D which has 40 Gigs of available dik space.

Step 1: Shrinking Local Disk D to make room for Ubuntu. Start Vista, right click on Computer, than choose from the menu Manage. The Disk Menagament Console will open. Click twice on Disk Storage and a graphic view of your current hard disk will appear.

Right Click on Local Disk D,(or in this case it's the OS Drive C:, but I recommend that you do this on another partition) and choose from the menu Shrink. A new window will open which where you will set how many MB you want to free up.

If you have more than 20Gigs available I suggest to shoose half the space (so if you have 40 write down 20000MB, if you have 25 GB available, write down 12500MB etc.).

Than click Shrink Volume. After a while (depends, 10 to 20 min) a new graphic will be presented, with the shrinked size of Disk D, and some disk space which will be marked as "free" or "unallocated", it's fine either way.

Important Note: It's highly recomandable to back up data on the partition you are shrinking, although the rule is all data remains intact, but you never know (my experience was OK, all data remained on the disk after the shrinking). Also you should defragment the volume (disk, partition) because if there are any files at the end of the disk, Vista will only allow you to free up space to the last available point from the end.

If you have only one partition (the system one, with Vista on it), than aply the same procedure. I am pretty sure that while shrinking Vista won't allow to erase or damage it self, but regardless any personal files might be erased or damaged so back them up (the "username" folder)

Step 2: Insert the Ubuntu 7.10 CD and restart the PC, (make sure that you have set your PC to boot from CD/DVD Rom First, this is default, but there is a chance that it's set to boot from the hard drive first).

This time you will start in Ubuntu. (The good thing about Ubuntu is that you can try it out without installing it. So I suggest that you play around with Ubuntu for at least a week without installing it. You will be able to write down or change files on Vista's partitions). But lets countinue with the installation. So you've started in Ubuntu and on the desktop there's an Icon that says "Install", double click it and you'll start the installation wizard. First you need to answer two or three questions like time zone and language preferences, and than the partition menager will start. It offers three or four options (depending on your hard disk settings), you will choose "Guided-the largest countinous free space".

Click Forward and in about 30 to 40 minutes you will be asked to restart the PC. (Remove the disk, this time, so you won't start up from the Live CD again.)

Step 3: Go to System, Administration and choose the Update Menager (if you have an internet connection), so that you would update your Ubuntu.

It's simple is that. There are other ways of installing Ubuntu, but this one is the easiest for a dual boot, on the same hard disk.

Visual Effects: Vista vs. Ubuntu

What did Microsoft did wrong with Windows Vista?

They got greedy, that's what!
No, seriously, (although greed is not to be excluded completely), one of the biggest mistakes with Windows Vista is the hardware support/need. Billy claims that Vista was built to support high-end technology, when in fact high-end tech is the only tech Vista is able to run on. And it runs on it like a lazy dog. I installed Vista soon after it was launched and I was satisfied , I still am, because everything was functional, there were no crashes, while on the net the rumors were not so kind. It's a little slow, but at least I don't have to worry about epileptic seizures.
One would wonder why am I writing this? Because of the visual effects, and the realese of Ubuntu 7.10.
I installed Ubuntu in a dual boot with Vista, and let me tell you from one regular CD, you get much more than Vista's 2,3 Gigs DVD. The visual effects are astonishing, I can start explaining now, which OS which effects has, but it wouldn't do any good, because what Ubuntu can do is beyond any imagination of a Windows user, especially after Windows introduced the "WOW" effect (Aero Themes, transparency and 3D Flip). I though that what Vista does is excruciatingly beautiful, until I saw this video, which is the main reason to install Ubuntu along with Vista.

And this is how visual effects run on a PIII,800Hz, 128 RAM and GeForce 2 32MB.

FeedBurner integration with AdSense

From FeedBurner Blog:

"There's really nothing spookier than hollow, empty ad spaces rattling around your blog and/or web site, putting no cash in your pocket nor any extra hob- in your goblin. Before you banish these underperforming idlers to some distant house upon a lonely hill, we recommend redeeming them with a chance to boost your earning potential. This Halloween, the FeedBurner development team is asking those of us who do the announcing around here to make note of the now-available integration of FeedBurner site ads and AdSense."

Now here's what I think:

"Balls!!! Big Time!!! They are just throwing crumbs to the not so read feeds, and they call it FAN.
What they actually do is put one ad, under the first item on the site. Yeah, on the site, not the feed. I can do that myself . Thanks for the offer though, it's the thought that counts...I guess...

The most boring and yet most posted story is....

Back Again
I am sorry that I haven't been posting much these days. I've been a little busy and I barely had the time to turn on my computer. Also my muse is probably on vacation this month. Anyhow I'm back now with a new story....

Windows Vista SP1, the Dream Crasher

Three months ago I switched from Windows XP to Windows Vista Home Premium. On the web Vista was practically crucified. So I was pleasantly surprised with how it worked on a configuration that was below the recommended. I have a 2.93Ghz Celeron, FX5500 256MB and 512 RAM, and yet Vista with all it's new features worked fine. To be honest it was a little slower than XP, but I didn't mind, plus some applications were in fact faster. Also the incompatibility issue of the programs I had on XP turned out to be non existent, because every program I had worked on XP (and I had a lot) worked on Vista too. So I was satisfied. Windows Vista and the Aero Features looked shiny. I loved it. And also Vista never crashed on my PC.
And then, it came. Windows Vista SP1. And blew away my dreams. I updated my Vista with the 700MB SP1 update file. The installation lasted longer than I installed the entire OS. Ok, I thought, it needs more time to get it together, but when it started for the first time, that was a disappointment. It was terribly slow, and there were 55 processes running. I restarted it again because sometimes it helps, but nooooo. I tried to end some processes , but there weren't any unimportant. I switched the theme appearance to Vista Basic, again slow. Ok , I said , I'll give it a day.
The next day, the story was pretty much the same, so I did the only thing I could, System restore. I hope the people in Microsoft will try a little harder with the final version of Vista's SP1, because this beta officially sucks.

Who's pulling strings in FOX?

OK, this might be a little far fetched, but how come Fox is canceling shows that are popular and anti government?
I mean there was "Firefly" with strong anti government, not the US government, but the storyline was in a future political system where the heroes were outcasts with strong feelings for the system (they strongly didn't like it).
And there's also "Futurama", also in the future, but a political satire of todays political system, mocking the present political figures and their actions.
So, my question is why Fox cancels shows that make people think with their own heads? Is someone telling Fox to do this? And who might that someone be?

The reason for this post is that two stories with just rumors for a Serenity sequel are in top 10 Digg stories, and also the coming back of Futurama.

Bookmarking drops your daily eCPM

Bookmarking your stories with any social bookmarking sites, brings a lot of traffic to your site or blog, which is more then important for your AdSense revenue. But "bookmarked" traffic has one big problem. It is targeted.
The visitors that come to your blog through a bookmarked link only came there to view the story , and maybe some other stories too, but they won't click on any adds. On the other hand the visitors that come to your blog through search engines are different. Some of them find what they were looking for, and some don't. So these visitors that don't find the desired content are the potential ad clickers. However you can't and you mustn't abandon bookmarking your stories in total, because bookmarking improves your search engine visibility. So my advice is to be moderate in bookmarking. And forget about spaming.

Why support the process of Global Warming?

Why support the process of global warming:
-no winters
-the ice caps will melt, which means more humid air, more rains, and thus water problems solved in many countries
- more water means countries like Ethiopia, Sudan can increase the agriculture production, so the "hungry nations" problem solved too
- summer all year long,
- summer through out the year, ladies in bikinis through out the year
- in order to wear a bikini, they will have to work out, be on diets and look like million dollars all the time,
- it's same for for guys too, no matter that guys say they don't pay attention to their looks
- the highest peaks, will shrink down so it will be easier on mountain climbers too
- in Southeast Asia people won't care when it's monsoon season, all year will be hurricane year
- for the Caribbeans too, (oh, that's right the Caribbean islands won't exist, just like the Netherlands)
- many continental countries will become famous sea resorts, tourism will flourish
- many coast line countries will be gone, (oh, well such is life)
- the Eiffel Tower will be the highest "open sea" light house
- Switzerland will be a neutral island, and the future Caymans
- ships and boats will be the main means of transportation, car accidents will decrease.
- all the sunny days will allow us to switch to solar energy, (there won't be much oil anyway)
- Panama won't have to spend zillion dollars to expand the canal
- New York will be renamed into New Atlantis
-will know where New Atlantis was and we'll know what garbage lies on the bottom of the sea so we won't look for it, or wonder what kind of "civilization" lived there.
- smoking won't be blamed as the primary cause for cancer, the ultraviolet rays will take the lead
-there won't be any need of scuba diving gear, mutants can bread underwater too
- there'll be more uninhabited space for nuclear tests
- different nations will be brought to live together as one in peace, (due to limited dry land, plus the devastating war before will make people to come to their senses)
- "Water World" with Kevin Costner will be a clasic. The best movie ever made:)

And that's all I can think off.

Time Limited Marriages, 7 Years Up, So Long Baby!

The proposal to turn marriage into a kind of time-share arrangement has shocked Germany. It comes from Gabriele Pauli, who is running to become head of the Bavarian conservative Christian Social Union (CSU) party.

“Many marriages survive only because people think it gives them security,” Ms Pauli told a news conference in Munich. “But only love should count.”

Her idea would apply only to civil marriages. Vows sworn on the altar, “till death us do part”, would not be amended. Civil marriages would be regarded as a limited seven-year contract. “After that initial period each partner would have to say ‘yes’ again in order to prolong the marriage,” she said. “If they do, there is no reason why marriage should not end up as a lifelong partnership, but in the meantime we will have saved the financial and emotional cost of many divorces.” (from timesonline.co.uk)

After seven years of marriage people can decide if they want to still be married or and prolong the "contract" or simply separate. I won't get into the technicalities and legal stuff during such separations, but what do you think will be the impact of society and familie as the corner stone of todays society.

My opinion is that she is just trying to score points and get more popular through controversy.

Seven years is a long period of time where most married couples already have children and are deeply, emotionally related to each other, so most likely the seven years countdown will be forgotten and prolonging the marriage legally will be a routine. Even with marriages that seem unstable, where kids are involved the outcome after seven years would be the same I think and the couples will continue living together.

Marriages with a lot turmoils, and quarrels, cheating etc., or what would be a bad marriage, will end before those seven years, so this limit has no effect on these kind of marriages. Even if somehow this kind of marriages survives through seven years, it will end just as bitter as any bad marriage at any time.

Couples that are doing just fine, but don't have kids are same case like those with kids, perhaps even chances of ending the marriage are even slimmer. The reasons for this is fear of lonliness, the older you get the harder to get a partner, and you won't have kids to support you and be with you.

So, all in all the "seven year" law looks like a marketing stunt, but still if this law would be ever brought in life it's consequences on society as we know it could be quite big. And it does hold the potential to do it. Family would disintegrate and lose it's role completely. Human relationships will become scarce and superficial, emotions will lessen their roles in our life.

Encompassed, it looks like a future thats out of sci-fi script. I s it for the better or for the worse? Who knows. The fact remains that things are on constant change, the very own thought, so just thinking of time limited marriages shows a tendency that marriage is losing it's perspective in the future.

A letter to the UN, from Macedonia

With this letter, we the people of Republic of Macedonia ask the United Nations to correct the mistake made fifteen years ago, when only because of Greece caprices the UN broke their own rules and allowed two million people to be humiliated every time there is an event that is from international significance. It's all done under the excuse called a "temporary agreement" between Macedonia and Greece. First of all, it's temporary like it says, second it's made under pressure because Greece put an embargo towards Macedonia, which was in a bad economical situation anyway.
BUT, I don't blame Greece, it's the UN's fault that allowed this to happen in the first place. Basic human rights are broken under it's nose, and yet their best action is "sort it out between you". There is nothing to sort out, I am a Macedonian and nobody can call me otherwise unless I express a desire to.
Macedonia is a member of the UN since April 1993, and I can remember how proud I was even as a kid, that we are a part of such a great organization that unites people from around the world. Today as an adult I am disappointed, because for 15 years of membership Macedonia and it's people got nothing , but pure humiliation.
I kindly ask the United Nations to read the document that is the core of it's existence, the base on what humanity stands proudly on this planet today, and correct the mistakes made in the past. We know that you can't make Greece to call us Macedonia, but you can let the rest of the countries in the world to call us as they have acknoweledged us under our constitutional name, Republic of Macedonia, not some abbreviation (FYROM)of an artificial name that is a leftover of an artificial country too (Yugoslavia)
If this condition remains and the UN continues to ignore the voice of the people of Macedonia, my recommendations to the macedonian government is if possible to withdraw Macedonia's membership from the United Nations and end this farce. I understand the benefits that come with being a member of the United Nations, but when basic human rights are broken and all dignity is torn away from entire nation any benefit looks like a crumble thrown to a beggar. I call all people from the world for a support given in any way. I don't want to get into the details why there's a dispute for the name between Macedonia and Greece, but judge by what's given if it's right to be addressed to as something you're not.

Thanks for reading..

Men , sex and love

Why is it easy for men to have sex without love? (From "first hand" experience, first right hand that is)
There are many studies on how women are more capable for multitsking then men, but I beg to differ, since I know that men can be deeply in love with one woman, while successfully having sex with two other, and if that's not multitasking, I don't know what is!?
Jokes aside, here's a theory that I developed from personal experience. It's really a simple one, possible even already known. So here it goes.
Men experience their first sexual experience at the age of twelve plus or minus a year. And we are talking here about simple, rudimentary, non-interactive experiences, aka "solo missions". So boys early sexuality is solely based on achieving pleasure, without physical contact with another human being, without enjoying the company of someone loved. There's no foreplay, nor longevity of the action. Soon this becomes a habit, that's hard to abandon even when men start having sex with other human beings. So, that's why most men are fast and non emotional when sex is involved, and the desire to achieve sexual pleasure makes men , not picky. The biological instincts have a great deal in this too, and men don't deal much with sense.
While women, thanks to sex being a taboo for almost forever, and women's not so good position in society for centuries are forced to experience sex for first time with another human being and it must be someone they have loved for many a years. (In case if it's not someone they have loved for many a years, society starts a procedure called "labeling", but chances that it was a prearranged marriage are quite good too). However, women are used to having sex with someone else present in the room (or tree, I saw this in an "educational" movie once). Also women have proved to have much stronger will when it comes to satisfying their sexual desires. But I believe that this is socially predetermined, because socially, it was and somewhere still is undesirable for women to express sexuality unless specifically asked to.
To conclude: men having sex with one or more women while in love with totally other women is biologically and socially predetermined, not just because we, the men, are pigs by nature.

Onlywire: Drive Traffic to Your Blog the Easy Way

Onlywire is a social bookmarking service, but you can't view your bookmarks at Onlywire because it's not a bookmarking site only bookmarking service.
Now, what's great about Onlywire is that with only one time bookmarking, (your story , news, site or anything you would normaly submit to any bookmarking site) will be bookmarked on every bookmarking site that you are a member.
This means you need to tell Onlywire the usernames and passwords of your memberships. Some one will object that it is dangerous to reveal that kind of information, but come on, you'll just open another account if anything happens , (or open accounts just for Onlywire)but so far at least for me everything is cool. Plus Onlywire guarantees the privacy as far as they are concerned.
Supported social bookmarking sites are: Backflip, Blogmemes, De.lici.us, De.lirio.us, Blinks, Exites, Furl, Spurl, Ma.gnolia, Diigo, Linkatopia, Linkrolls and others I can't think of right now.
What you got to know is that it doesn't work very good with every one of them. So, the De.lici.us bookmarks work just great and from there you can import them or export to Furl or Spurl or Diigo etc. But for this please gather at least 50 bookmarks at De.licio.us because if you do it for each and every bookmark it's no use , just go and bookmark it yourself directly at the site.(If someone doesn't know how, say so in a comment, I'll try to help).
How does Onlywire increase traffic? Well it doesn't , but it's a helpful tool that saves on time that you would spent on bookmarking your stories to the above mentioned services.
Important note: Tagging is very important, it's even more important then putting a title, because the search engines of De.licio.us or Furl or any other service are based on taggs. So don't forget to put tags.
Also, the titles, they are important on a short run, which means make it a interesting , attractive title with a short discription also with words of a great choice.

Celebrities "E-mail" Addresses

I ran on a question on Yahoo Answers that was inquiring about Paris' Hilton e-mail address, and I kinda stretched it and this is what came of it:

So Paris Hilton regularly uses spoiledrichbitch@richgrand.dad, but her new address is excludedblackships@stillrich.huh.
Britney Spears managed to keep her old address a secret , but her new one is very well known, it's mom@loose.com. Pretty witty, don't you think?
Lindsey Lohan has only one and it's rehabgirl@maybenext.time
Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes have a joint address, lovebirds@weallhate.them, the most recent address is neverenoughmoney@suripicsformillion.bux. Although there's a roumer that Katie has her own account and this is not verified but you can try e-mail her at birthinsilence@really!?.com. And Tom has the address stillyoung@beleiveme.iam. (please believe him, because this address is pathetic)
Angelina Jolie and Brad Pit are reachable at aretheyapair@orwhat?.com, however Angelina keeps two of her own e-mail addresses as a golden reserve, same username, diffrent domain. The first is bored@nexthusband.com, the other is bored@next.kid (I humbly ask for forgiveness here, what Angelina Jolie does is honorable in every way and an act of greater humanity, every honor once more, she has proved herself a true ambassador of good will. I got carried away, Sorry).
Johny Lee Miller is subscriber at byangelina e-mail service, his username is dumped01.
Oprah Winfrey, I am not sure, but on few of her shows (umm, correction, on most of her shows!) I think I noticed the addresses paidcommercials@forriskymovies.com, and entireshow@byscript.com (remember the "Wild Hogs" and the bad act by it's cast during the show, or nobody noticed?).
Billy Bob Thornton has a really easy address dumped02@byangelina.com
George Bush is available on please@pickme.pickme, and the newer one is never@again.com. The last address is faketears@pleasepickme.again. (I didn't quite had the time to check this story, all I saw was an old man crying. Maybe because he won't get picked next time?)
Colin Farel can be contacted at dumped03@byangelina.com.
After Ben Affleck stopped playing with his pall Matt Damon, he joined the domain what'ssobber.com, his username is "ihavenoidea".
Has anyone seen Matt Damon in company of a human being, after he stopped hanging out with his "hetero" (as he well put it somewhere) friend Ben Affleck? Oh, yeah, the man 's busy, he doesn't have time to sociolize. His address is lost@boyfriend.com, oops, no, I am very sorry, my mistake, it's lost@identity.role. (Jokes aside, Matt Damon is cool, much cooler then his ex boyfriend, I mean friend, friend. I don't know what's wrong with me today!?)
Janet Jackson is a privileged owner of the e-mail itwasanaccident@iswear.com.
Michael Jackson, is at the same domain as his sister , well I guess you know it, justsleepingwithkids@iswear.com.
Jennifer Lopez, after she's like, well not present on stage or set, and after a desperate attempt to win over the Hispanic audience with a really bad spanish accent and an average song, her address is downhill@isitmyhusband?.com
It was very difficult to find the e-mail address of Julia Stiles so I opened an account for her workaholic@pleasehavesome.fun, if she ever reads this please Julia, check your mail. One message here," no one really cares what you do, and ignore fools like me, all we're good at is dissing people"(I am not gonna apologize here, but I just gotta say, she's good, she's very good. One of my favorite young and new actresses).
Brad Pit's next address is dumped04@byangelina.com. This is quite a popular domain, isn't?

Well, that's all I got for now, maybe next time there will be some more e-mail addresses of your favorite stars!

*Disclaimer: All e-mail addresses are fictional, however the characters, their characterisctics and the events are free for interpretation.

Contact: yeah...@right.com
If you wanna contact express yourself with a comment.

Adsense Between Posts

As from recently Google and Blogger allow and enable ad units between posts. To turn on this, log in to blogger.com, click Layout and then click Edit in the post field. Check "show ads between post" and customize the appearance.
The ad units can appear only three times per page, and you can choose whether to show ads after every post, every other post, after every third post and so on. But if your ad units shows three times on a page you can be sure that some of the other Adsense units won't make an appearance.
I doubt this will improve blog monetization, for a bigger percent, because Google doesn't miscalculate.

Pozdrav!

How to increase traffic to your blog? part 2

Netscape and it's power

This story bookmarking site is very powerful when it comes to increasing traffic to your site, but YOU GOT TO BE CAREFUL, NOT TO MISS USE IT. So what you need is to create an account with Netscape and submit your stories (posts) in the appropriate category on Netscape. That would be enough to increase your blog visitors for at least 100 visitors daily, worst case scenario and best case is thousands, possible 10000 visitors the first day. This varies depending on the story popularity, which means you gotta make an effort to publish an interesting story.
Now what I've advised so far most certainly contains miss use, because publishing only your stuff will sooner or later get you BANNED AND REMOVED!!?? from their service. Someone might say "well, I'll just make another account", but then you are on a good way to get your blog or site banned on Netscape forever. So, here's how to keep it in a limit:

1. Don't post stories from your blog on Netscape every day.(Ok, this one is a given but read on.) Skip at least one day, and post stories from other bloggers too. If you have more then one blog then still post on Netscape only one story every other day , but make sure your blogs are well linked, that way the traffic from the blog that's been "advertised" on Netscape will pass on to the other blogs. Note: publishing stories from other sites is very important, because it shows our unselfishness, and make them good stories, don't publish stories just to publish. Be kind and good with Netscape and it's membership and Netscape will return with even greater kindness.

2.Be careful with the way you explain the story, don't use any vulgar words, don't use hate speech etc. Also don't use the same tag words many times. The content you publish also keep in mind that pornographic materials or any other that's controversy is unwelcome. Note: you will notice that this rule is broken on Netscape, but what do you think how does someone gets banned? I mean the Netscape Team are a bunch of great folks and tolerate some of this, but don't over do it! Best try to avoid it completely!

3. Well I guess there isn't anything left for number three.

How do I know this? From experience. It's the best way to learn, but damn, it's a hard one.
The good thing about Netscape is that even the published links (stories) appear in search engine results. And you can imagine how I felt when I got banned with over 100 links of my own published there. But that's life, now I know better. I am a little angry at Netscape, but you can't really blame the people, I would've done the same.

How to increase traffic to your blog or site? part 1

Feedburner (Or "give your blog a nudge over the edge")

When it comes to site feed services Feedburner is most likely the best service there is. (And i don't say this because I use it, although I am planing on a little experimenting and try some other site feed providers)
Why is Feedburner so great?
First, Feedburner is free as are all it's features and services.
Second, Feedburner is flexible as the very own definition of flexibility propose. (it's very flexible if someone didn't understand). This means you can use it with every feed reader. Podcasters are also able to post thier audio or video content.
Third, Feedburner offers feed stats as well as site stats, and from experience they are very accurate.
Fourth, you can give your site a nudge over the edge....a.k.a boost the visitors numbers. How?
Feedburner has almost every tool imaginable to optimize your blog for getting more visitors of which the most important one and the most effective is the Feed Flare feature.
Feed Flare adds to every post of your blog a direct link to a wide choice of bookmarking service. This way people who are members of the bookmarking services can automatically share your story with the other members of their community. You have a choice for over 100 bookmarking sites including Netscape, Digg, Ma.gnolia, Furl, Del.icio.us and many others, and you can choose whether the feedflare link should show only in the feed or in the site or blog, or both.
Another tool is the "ping shot", this gives an automatic ping whenever you post to a great deal of newsgators so that the specific service would index your content at their servers. (Technorati, Alexa, Snap, etc). There are about 5 default of these services and you can choose up to five more. So if someone who is a member of Technorati is your subscriber and has bookmarked your blog at Technorati he will receive your content fresh and steaming without any efforts from your side.
The "chiklet chooser". This is the "subscribe" icon for your blog, There are icons for the most popular feed readers to embed in your blog, plus there is a widget for e-mail subscription, so your readers can get your post through e-mail.
Buzz boost. These feature gives you the HTML Code for a xml widget to publicize on other site or blogs if you have. Visually it's not the best looking girl/guy in the neighborhood, so that's why you have the headline animator. The headline animator is customized to your likings and it rotates the latest headlines of your blog. This tool is also for embedding in other blogs, or sites.
And, because I am getting kinda lazy, I will explain what else can do Feedburner in future posts. (To tell you the truth and be perfectly honest too, I have no idea what to write anymore, but I'm sure there is, I just need a little time.)

How to index your blog at Yahoo?

Hi, I am very happy to tell you bla bla bla bla...huh

So this is how:

it's almost the same way as google indexing.

1. I guess you're guessing by now that you need a Yahoo account (Yahoo mail at least), if you don't go create one and then come back, (but really is there anybody out there that doesn't Yahoo or Google). Oh and one more thing, I don't want you to think that I earn something from all this "go create" stuff)

2.So once you have that account go to www.siteexplorer.search.yahoo.com, sign in with your yahoo username , write down the address of your blog (again without http:// or www),next click Add my site.

3.Once you've added the site it will say Not Authenticated. Click that button, and choose metod of authentication, which is with Meta tag again. Copy the text (ex.: , again just like google indexing beware that this text must end with />, I stress this because it happens the given text to end with just >, and that's a mistake)

4. Go to blogger.com click Layout of your blog, then click Edit HTML, and paste the given text from Yahoo beneath this text , and above the google meta tag text. (if you already google indexed it).
Click Save Template then go to Yahoo Siteexplorer and click Authenticate.

5.That's it! For more detailed go to my previous post where it's explained how to index your site at google.
It's very similar, just different terms are used.

6. To add a sitemap at Yahoo Site explorer (I almost forgot this, and it's so important) go to Manage, and add feed, again you will just need to add atom.xml)

READ THE PREVIOUS POST IF I WAS UNCLEAR AT ANY POINT. IF EVEN THEN YOU'RE NOT QUITE CONVINCED, CONTACT ME, COMMENT AND I'LL EXPLAIN.

One thing is sure, blogging is time consuming.

Pozdrav! Bye!

How to index your blog at Google?

And so the post goes:

1. First if you don't have a Google account (gmail or whatever google service), go at gmail.com and create one, then come back and finish this.

2. Now go to www.google.com/webmaster, and there choose Webmaster tools (including sitemaps, this sitemaps is very important one), sign in with the your google username and password.

3.Somewhere on the page you will find Add Website, click on it, and in the required field write down your blog's address (Note: without the http:// and without www.. If you choose to disobey this , abort the procedure now, cause it will be useless to continue)

4. Here comes the tricky part:
- open another window or better TAB if your browser has tabs, and go to blogger.com, sign in and choose Layout, from your blog options. In the layout page go to Edit HTML, once the HTML text opens return back to the webmaster TAB.
-now you will need to verify your blog, go to manage your blog, and then Verify your site which will bring you to the next page. From the little box, choose choose Meta Tags. Bellow the box will appear a strange text foe ex. (). Select the text. right click Copy.
- go to your opend Tab of blogger.com and in the HTML text somewhere in the beginning you will find this text , right beneath this Paste the previously copied text. (Note: if your text ends with just > , please make it />). Then scroll down and click save template.
- Now return to Webmaster and press Ready to verify. (If it's not succeseful, just go to blogger.com and click Save Template again , and then again Ready to verify)
5. Phew! Now that we've done this (hopefully), it's time to add a sitemap. Why? Because the sitemap will tell google about your new posts. (in short, but it's the truth I swear, I just feel kinda lazy to explain everything. Plus you don't really need to know this)
6. 6? Really? It's not like point five was a step, Ok lets go to 7.
7. Now select Manage yourblog.blogspot.com, find and click Add a Sitemap, from the box choose General sitemap and Google Webmaster will automatically insert the address of your blog except the end where you will add atom.xml, and then click Add sitemap or Finish (I am not sure what it says I am writing this from my mind as I've remembered it)

Step 8: That's it.

Next post: I am not sure, it will either be how to index your blog at Yahoo, or I will introduce you to FeedBurner.

I apologize for the bed speling. If there was any, I am a genius after all, or a fool. It's not like there is any difference.

Pozdrav! Srcinja tie!( I bet this one is a brainer to read). It says See ya! (in short....)

System Restore

I had a problem with my Windows Vista, so I was searching through the net to find solution. I accidentally ran on a forum were some people were "advising" to turn of the System Restore feature. Really? Turn off System Restore!? Ok , I guess that's not so bad, some people are just "free disk space" freaks, and in order to achieve maximum free storage space they turn off the Restore feature. But it's sad that most of the people on the forum agreed to that advise.
Now let me ask you, do you know what can a virus or a worm or a trojan can do to your computer? Do you know how many beta versions software freezes the system at start up? (Kaspersky, Panda, Comodo, BitDefender, Personal Firewalls). Do you know how many stable versions software freezes the system at start up? (Panda, Komodo, BitDefender,Personal Firewalls, Kaspersky in rare cases). But that's not so bad! Well it's not if system restore is ON. If your system freezes at start up because of a software you installed, don't worry you can fix it easy, something like this, (not something but exactly like this):

1.Power on

2.While starting press F8

3.From the screen choose the Safe Mode (or Safe Mode with networking)

4.And the system will start.

5.Go to Help and Support and then Undo changes to your computer with System Restore

6. From there on it's easy, you'll manage on your own.
(BTW, System restore doesn't effect files, so everything you have will stay intact, even if you restore to a point five days ago, documents , songs, images saved yesterday will remain)

Now some one will say, why not just uninstall the software? Because you can't. It's Safe Mode, you can't install, you can't uninstall, hell, you can't even put a desktop wallpaper.

So for the last time, DON'T turn off System Restore. If you want more free space downsize the reserved System Restore space to minimum (right click on My Computer, Properties, System Restore Tab, Set), so there would be only one Restore Point, but don't turn it off, because you will find yourself in a situation for just 1Gig of disk space to reinstall the enitre OS! (It's not that hard , but just think of the annihilation of every image, song, movie, document you have. If you reinstalling yourself, I guess you'll safe something. But if the OS is password protected, like most vendors do, you will have to take the computer to reinstalling the OS and they'll charge you, heavily).

How to create a blog?

Me personaly preffer Blogger dot com blog, which means a blogspot.com blog. Why? Because it's simple, easy and professional. So lets cut the cr....to the chase:

1. First what you need is a google account, if you have a Gmail account that'll do, if not go to gmail.com and create one it's free and open to register.

2.Now that you have a Google account go to www.bloger.com and sign in with your Gmail account (it's not Gmail specificaly though , you can use this for any Google service.

3.Once you sign in , you can start creating your blog in three easy steps:
-first you need to choose name of your blog, and the address (it will look like www.yourblog.blogspot.com)
-then you need to choose a template for your blog (the basic visual settings which you can change at any time)
-start posting (this is a tricky one, trust me, and I'll tell you why. Because it's hard to find a good idea and content for posting, even if you have it in your head like the best idea ever, on screen might not work for you, but lets hope it's only me like that)
So that's it, you have a blog now.

Tips

1. First tip is about the posting. Be sure even before you create the blog that you have a good idea, with much stories that complete each other or are connected anyhow. Or forget this and write off hand for whatever comes to your mind. Second handed tip: if you don't have a good sense for humor, I'd give up now. Seriously, even if a story is dead serious, use humor, readers like it, and they like it a lot.

2.See that the template you choose fits the content of your blog. I mean the colors are important. (If you don't agree, fine , be like that , but you'll see how much time you'll spend choosing the template).

3.After you start posting gear up your blog. Add stuff like calendars, stats counters (this is almost obligatory, and choose a counter service with more features, there are a lot and free too.)

4.This one is a very important one. You need to "google" and "yahoo" index it (make your content available for their search engines). The process for this could be difficult but we'll manage when it comes to it. (If someone got to it please comment, I'll explain it, although I'll do it anyway later in the posts)
Why is this important? Because of traffic, sooner or later when the content of your blog grows, there will be visitors that come from search engines).

There will be more tips later, I am going to bed now. I'm tired.
Next post will get to the indexing stuff. There will be some tips for like how to make your blog better for google to index it and to rank higher in the search results.
Ok , now I am going to bed.
But, wait ... nope I said it all. Bye.
But you must know I don't say "but wait" in wane, I had a "light bulb" moment, which has to be explained later so that you would be able to make your blog popular.
Bye now! OMG I've been sleeping on one eye all along!

Why create a Blog?

Blogs and blogging became the fastest growing and the most popular feature of the Web 2.0. So nowadays everybody can have a web-site. Some may say blogs aren't web-sites, but with a little HTML knowledge, and an interesting theme, you 've got a website my friend and nothing less.
Why create a blog?

1. Because it's free (mostly), there are paid blog services but the free ones aren't left to eat dirt in the mud, in fact they are leading (in quantity and quality).
2.It's your way of easier communication with friends and with wide anonymous public. You can make your blog closed only for friends or make it a public site for anyone to see, comment or even post along with you.
3.You can create a full-featured blog within minutes, literally. The procedure can never be anymore simpler. And you've got at disposal thousands of free gadgets for every blog domain. (clocks, calendars, stat counters, weather forecast, polls and surveys, quizes etc., just like I said, a web-site, nothing less)
4.Blogs can earn you money. How? We'll see later, first we need to create the blog and make it a good one so there any traffic goes there.
5.Even if you aren't a computer wiz, the more bigger reason to try and make one, because this will prepare you for the next era, hell this will prepare you to survive through this era too.

So , don't wait the last minute when blogs will be forgotten to create a blog, start now.
Next post. How...

The post above

The post above is one way of how to make money. I can't say that i will definetly make money of it, but the point is to open your mind to anything, try out new stuff. Avoid the standards and be creative. Although the post above is too aggressive to achieve anything, the potential of it is not to be underestimated. Surprises happen everyday, but for this one to work you would need a miracle.

Kontera Publishers

What is Kontera?
Kontera is a service that provides contentlink adds for many advertisers. So if you have a website don't hesitate to use Kontera. First u need ti sign up for the publishers program where u will get the code paste it in your site and the money will start rolling. Soon words from your site will become contentlinks, they will be double-hyper linked, in whichever color you choose. You can change the color in the code, where it says color. Ok, so my main point is that Kontera is legitimate service, it works just like any "middleman". Advwertisers pay Kontera, and Kontera pays the publishers based on the clicks on the contentlinks. A key factor I guess for higher revenues would be the website traffic.
link www.kontera.com
Once you sign up, you will have to wait for at least for a day so that your site will be reviewed, and you will be notified by e-mail, that you can start earning money.

Agloco

Agloco is a referral system that i just don't get it.
Actually i get it but i don't like it.
I don't like it because it's based on a software called "viewbar", and the viewbar must be on your screen running all the time, right over the taskbar. The paying system is incomprehensible. They count some kind of hours "spent"on internet while the"viewbar" is running, and how many hours your refferals spent while the viewbar is running. But the word money is avoided all the time. I wonder why? I can't say that it's a scam, because it's not. They pay money because the viewbar shows adds, and you get a commission for that, but the money must be really petty and miserable that agloco.com refuses to give any info on that, instead they tell you how much you would earn with other sites and services like this (Adsense for example), but how much they pay is a top secret, obviously. I joined agloco.com but i don't use it, so i am not gonna give you a link with my referral ID, if you want to check it out you know the web address.

Shvoong.com

Shvoong dot com is probably the coolest money making site!
What's the cool thing about it?
It's incredibly convenient for those "too much homework, not so much time" guys , and perfect for those "never too much homework". On Shvoong you can register for free and you can publish your essays and abstracts. Depending on how popular is your abstract the income will be bigger. Plus for every friend that you have invited (and the friend registered) you can get up to 100$. There's option also to translate abstracts from others (if you know more languages), because shvoong.com supports 33 languages.
The link is

Google/Adsense

Well I don,t really know what to say, except this works.
Seriously, there are no more websites without the "Ads by Google"
It's easy to use, free to join. Just put the ads on your site and the money will start to roll.
Clearly the more visitors you have on your site the more money, although the paying system isn't the clearest one. Try out, especially if your a blogger, its silly not to use Adsense.

Cashcrate

Cashcrate is another petty paying site that it's safe to join in.
You can make money here by completing offers of many firms or websites and the money isn't petty at all. Also the referral program offers 20% of what your referrals earn, and 10 % of what your referrals referrals earn (second level referrals). That's pretty good. Another thing is filling in offers for points, when u make a certain amount of points u receive some kind of a gift , there is a list and some gifts are a blast (iPods, digital camera etc..).
I did a little questioning on the internet and many people confirmed that it's not a scam, and many people received their gifts.
The cons of this site are that not for every complete offer you actually get the money because some are just not accepted. Also many sites ask for a credit card number, which me personally feel quite uncomfortable to give, but many offers are free where off course the money is little, but it pays off. Another thing is that there are not so many offers daily to fill in.
Also some sites that require your credit card number are accredited world wide so there's no reason not to give away your card number there and the money they offer for your part off the deal can be from 10 to 15 $.(like I said before, there is a chance you wont get that money).
So , if nothu=ing else I think that Cashcrate deserve a try out.

Orbitfiles

Now, this is my first blog, ever!
The title of my blog is "cashing in on internet?"
Can you really do it?
Will someone pay you just to sit and surf the net and in the meantime to make thousands of dollars?
Many sites claim that they will!!!
But many sites will skrew you over!
You can't make thousands of dollars just by surfing, and filling out surveys, bla bla bla bla...
You can make some money , but thats just some petty cash. Trust me I have tried out many "earn cash" sites and most of them just require your credit card number in order to steal your money.
So for all those who will search for money on the net beware! Don't give away your credit card or PayPal number to any site, choose them carefully because you might regret it. Especially avoid those that promise sums over 500$, not to mention the ones that promise 10000 or even 20000 of dollars.
Now, todays title is Orbitfiles? Do you know what it is?
It's a site that ofers free online storage (6 Gigs, to be exact, and for 9$ 70 Gigs), and the cool thing is that there are no limitations for upload or download. You can share your files with everybody or just with people you like. The money on this site is in their incentive program. Namely they pay 0.10 $ for each of your refferals and minimal pay out sum is 20 $. And I tell you it's hard! I barely made it to 9$! So here is the link, try it out not for the money but for the service they offer.
www.orbitfiles.com

And, yes, if you sign up I will earn 0.10$, so go ahead make me rich!

Next time I will find some other petty cashing site!

Privacy Policy

Here are a few lines of policy regarding the privacy of the visitors of this blog.

* Google, as a third party vendor, uses cookies to serve ads on this site.
* Google's use of the DART cookie enables it to serve ads to the users based on their visit to this site and other sites on the Internet.
* Users may opt out of the use of the DART cookie by visiting the Google ad and content network privacy policy.

What is a cookie?

A “cookie” is a small text file containing a string of alphanumeric characters. There are two types of cookies: a persistent cookie and a session cookie. A persistent cookie gets entered by your Web browser into the cookie folder on your computer’s hard drive. A persistent cookie remains in that cookie folder, which is maintained and governed by your Web browser, after you close your browser program. A session cookie is temporary and disappears after you close your browser. DoubleClick’s ad-serving and paid search listing (“DART Search”) products utilize the same cookie: the DART cookie. The DART cookie is a persistent cookie and consists of the name of the domain that set the cookie (“ad.doubleclick.net”), the lifetime of the cookie, and a “value.” DoubleClick’s DART technology generates a unique series of characters for the “value” portion of the cookie.

What is the DoubleClick DART cookie?

The DoubleClick DART cookie is used by Google in the ads served on publisher websites displaying AdSense for content ads. When users visit an AdSense publisher's website and either view or click on an ad, a cookie may be dropped on that end user's browser. The data gathered from these cookies will be used to help AdSense publishers better serve and manage the ads on their site(s) and across the web.
What is the DoubleClick cookie doing on my computer?
If you have a DoubleClick cookie in your Cookies folder, it is most likely a DART cookie. The DoubleClick DART cookie helps marketers learn how well their Internet advertising campaigns or paid search listings perform. Many marketers and Internet websites use DoubleClick’s DART technology to deliver and serve their advertisements or manage their paid search listings. DoubleClick’s DART products set or recognize a unique, persistent cookie when an ad is displayed or a paid listing is selected. The information that the DART cookie helps to give marketers includes the number of unique users their advertisements were displayed to, how many users clicked on their Internet ads or paid listings, and which ads or paid listings they clicked on.

Why does your cookie keep coming back after I delete it?

When you visit any website or search engine on which DoubleClick’s DART technology is used, our servers will check to see if you already have a DART cookie. If the servers do not receive a DART cookie, the servers will try to set a cookie in response to your browser’s “request” to view that Web page. If you do not want a DART cookie with a unique value, you can obtain a DoubleClick DART “opt out” cookie. Alternatively, you can adjust your Internet browser’s settings for handling cookies. This is explained in the next question.

How can I adjust my cookie settings to accept or decline cookies?

To eliminate cookies you may have currently accepted, and to deny or limit cookies in the future, please follow one of these procedures:
IMPORTANT: IF YOU DELETE YOUR OPT-OUT COOKIE, YOU WILL NEED TO OPT-OUT AGAIN. IF YOUR BROWSER BLOCKS ALL OR THIRD-PARTY COOKIES, YOU WILL BLOCK THE SETTING OF OPT-OUT COOKIES.

* If you are using Internet Explorer 6.0, go to the Tools menu, then to Internet Options, then to the Privacy tab. This version of Internet Explorer is the first to use P3P to distinguish between types of cookies. P3P uses standardized privacy statements made by the cookie issuer to manage your acceptance of cookies. Under the “Privacy” tab, click on the “Advanced” button. Select “Override automatic cookie handling” and choose whether you want to accept, block or be prompted for “First-party” and “Third-party Cookies.” If you want to block all cookies coming from DoubleClick’s doubleclick.net domain, go to the “Web Sites” section under the “Privacy” tab and click the “Edit” button. In the “Address of Web site” field, enter “doubleclick.net,” select “Block,” click OK (menu will disappear); click OK again and you will be back to the browser.
* If you are using Netscape 6.0+, go to “Edit” in the menu bar, click on “Preferences,” click on “Advanced,” and select the “Cookies” field. Now check either the box that says, “Warn me before accepting a cookie” or “Disable cookies.” Click on “OK.” Now go to your “Start” button, click on “Find,” click on “Files and Folders,” type “cookies.txt” into the search box that appears, and click “Find Now.” When the search results appear, drag all files listed, into the “Recycle Bin.” Now shut down and restart your Netscape. Depending on your earlier choice you will either be prompted by new cookie sets or no cookies will be set or received.
* If you are using Mozilla or Safari, please go to their websites to find out how to disable cookies in those programs.
